Volleyball Brothers & Sisters Tourney
Last Thursday Femke (housemate of mine) invited me to be her ‘brother’ in the volleyball brothers & sisters tourney that her volleyball club organised this Saturday :). People from the club were supposed to invite their brothers and sisters who can be as experienced or inexperienced at volleyball as they want, to play a tourney with about 90 people in total. At first I was a little hesitant because it was about five years ago that I had played volleyball for the last time and even then, I wasn’t that good at it. I also have an exam Monday so since the tourney was from 7 pm till 11 pm, that could get late. But pretty soon I gave in to her sweet smile and I agreed to go to the tourney :).
And I must say… I’m happy that I accepted her invitation :)…
…I met her sister and the friend of her sister, both very nice girls. I was in a team of 8 players. Femke, Mariska (Femke’s sister), Imara or something like that - damn I already forgot :-S - which is that friend of Mariska, me, and four other people. We won only one of our four games, but it was fun anyway :). Nice to dig up those old volleyball talents **cough cough** and do some sports with this lazy body of mine. All in all I was pretty happy with my performance. Except for the serves (of which 5 out of 6 were out :|), I did pretty well I guess :). Although of course… I am nothing compared to the stunts Femke pulled off… Boy, is she good ;).
At first I was planning on going to the ‘afterdrink’ which would serve Belgian Beer only (!!!) but by the time we would be there it would be already midnight, so when I’d be home it would be 1.30 to 2 am probably. Normally that wouldn’t be that late, but… I had planned to start studying at 7 am, so… :-/. Thus I said goodbye after the tourney, and rode home in the cold but starry night… ;)
