The Flight to Heaven

I guess I worried a bit too much about the flight and all the paperwork accompanied by it… Everything (at least almost everything) went as smoothly as you could get it. I took the train at 5.41 am to Brussels National Airport, and arrived there at 7.12 am or something like that. I went straight into the airport, went to the Continental Airlines thingie, got my boarding pass and checked in my luggage. In the tax free area I picked up some Davidoff showergel and after some more wandering around I went to the gate. No problems at check-in, no problems at customs, no problems anywhere :).

At 9.45 am (5 minutes early), my plane took off for Newark Airport :). To my surprise we flew over Greenland, a country I’ve obviously never seen before, and also flew over the United Kingdom, Ireland and Canada before flying into US airspace. The Greenland sights were impressive. I’ve never seen that much ice before… And I even saw icebergs and everything :P. So, in the end… By the time I had landed, I had finished my 36 picture film roll which was only at 3 when I started my journey.

At Newark we…

…had to get through immigration which took a lot of time because over 200 people were waiting in line and by the time I got through that had raised to about 300-400. But the guy at immigration that took my finger prints and took a picture was very friendly, even complimented me on bringing chocolates ‘for the lady’ :P (which I had mentioned, since he wanted to know what kind of food I had with me).

After immigration and customs, I picked up my luggage and soon after found out that there were no trains driving between New Jersey and New York for the moment, so I had to take the bus. After some delay I got to New York Penn station without too much delay. The moment I jumped out of the bus and stood between those gigantic buildings, I was flabbergasted. Wow, I’m really in New York, how cool is that! :D

Wonderful !! It’s so detailed, that make us feel as if we are making a virtual tour to NY :D … Take good care and make sure your stamina is in perfect level for the rest of 2 weeks ;).

Well BTW, I am so curious if you have taken any pics on Icebergs :P… and for the first time in life, you were physically closest to Iceland, homeland of Liliana :D

    He tijl,
