Comment Pulse and AstroPic

Sometime this weekend I added a new little feature to my site: a ‘Comment Activity‘ picture. You can see it under the Recent Comments section on the left. It shows the comment activity on the last 20 posts I think. If it’s going up and down a lot, it means there’s a lot of activity. If it’s flatlining… then my blog is dead… :|. It’s probably not that dramatic, but of course… the better the heart beat or pulse of my blog, the more my blog will live… :)

Another thing I added just today is a ‘AstroPic of the Day‘. This is a lags-two-weeks-behind-but-still-looks-cool version of the well known Astronomy Picture of the Day site (great site btw ;)). The way it works on my site is that every day it shows the picture that was on APOD two weeks ago. So it’ll change on a daily basis automatically, but lag behind two weeks so that I only have to update the pictures once every two weeks ;). It would take a bit too much work otherwise, you see… :)

Anyway… Enjoy :).
