FF 12 - Nikodemos
- What literary character are you most like in real life?
I’ve been thinking about an answer to this question for a long time, but couldn’t really find something. After a while I thought of Ellie Arroway in Contact however (the movie I spoke of earlier). She’s really the kind of scientist I want to be. Not really in the field she’s in (Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence), but I think I’m quite driven for truth as well. I’ve had my hiccups, but I think I am quite like her. Well… maybe not… Dunno… I definitely look up to her :).
- Who would play you in a movie about your life?
Also a difficult question. I’m not a very straightforward person :P… I guess I’d want Tom Hanks or Russell Crowe to play me (the young versions of them of course ;)). If I would have been female, I would definitely have wanted Jodie Foster to play me. I so admire her…

- Which are your favorite pair of shoes? Where did you buy them?
My favourite shoes are probably my climbing boots. I bought them in Germany on one of our holidays there. They have very good quality there, much better than here in Belgium where they don’t know what a mountain is. I don’t really know why I like them so much, they just fit really well, and I love hiking in them… :)
- Do they actually make and serve Belgian waffles in Belgium?
Yes, but we have several kinds of waffles. You have the thick heavy ones (on the right in the picture) and the thin light ones (on the left in the picture). My grandfather used to make very good light waffles when we came over for dinner. Butter on it and suger or jam or whatever… Mmmmmmm… I had one of the thick ones almost two weeks ago with Susanne, a hot one :)… Mmmmmmmmm…

- Do Belgians actually call “Belgian waffles” “Belgian Waffles”?
No, we call the thick ones “Luiker Waffles” (from Luik aka Liège) and the thin ones “Brussels Waffles” (from Brussels, duh! :P).
- Do you like Belgian waffles?
Yes! Haven’t eaten any better waffles abroad… They’re delicious…
- What are the Flemish words for “Belgian waffle”?
It’s basically the same :p… “Belgische wafel”, “Luikse wafel” or “Brusselse wafel”.
- Do you like saying “Belgian waffle”, because I certainly do.
Haha, the first thing I say every morning when I wake up is “Belgian waffles rock!”. ;)
- Would I win a Rory for the gratuitous use of the word “Belgian” in a serious screenplay?
Hihi :p. I have no idea what a Rory is, but I’m sure you’d win a lot of Belgian prizes for your free advertisements :P.
More questions tomorrow by noodle.
