Spoon Theory

Spoon Theory

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine who has a chronic disease, gave me this link… It’s a story about a young woman with Lupus who is asked by her friend what it feels like to be sick. Startled by the question, she comes up with a ‘Spoon Theory’.

“[…] I explained that the difference in being sick and being healthy is having to make choices or to consciously think about things when the rest of the world doesn’t have to. The healthy have the luxury of a life without choices, a gift most people take for granted. […]” - Christine Miserandino

It’s a striking story, and it once again made me realize how precious our tiny insignificant lives are. I hope you’ll read this story, so that you’ll better understand how some people have to go through their lives and how lucky those of you are who are never sick… Click here to read this moving story.

Take care, my friend.
