Bike Disintegrating

What the heck? I was riding down a little hill today leaning on the handle bars of my bike (’stuur’ in Dutch), and guess what? The left side of the handle bars started bending and eventually cracked… leaving me with only one bar left :|… I guess I’ll have to get new handle bars tomorrow… Geezzz… I’ve never seen anything like that… Must have looked pretty funny to whoever was watching me drive with my left handle bar loosely in my hand somewhere (as it was still attached to the bike by the brake cable).

Would have been less funny if it had hapened all at once on a larger hill.

Trust me, I’ve done something similar!

  2. Quicky says:

    Hehe :D.

…that reminds… **goes shower, dresses, has breakfast and goes to the bike store**

  3. Maija says:

:)) Hihihihi… That must have looked funny! :P
Well, I’m happy that it didn’t happen to sudden and you are not injured. Silly thing to brake, indeed :)
Also reminds me that dutch guy that was studying with us in Finland - his bike didn’t have or was regularly loosing a seat! He used it quiet a bit anyway, but avoided when he was drunk :D.

    Lol…
/me is reminded of the day right after he bought a new bike and they had stolen my seat…

  5. InkRose says:

    Maija’s in Finland?!????!!!!!?!???!!?!?!??

  6. Maija says:

    Hello Inky! :)
I’m trying to figure if it’s my poor grammar that makes you think that I’m in Finland now? :P
But if not, then I turn on surprised and a little bit disappointed look: “Hellooo! This is were Maija and Mats met ;)”
Still, I suspect my lousy grammar :P

Did Quicky get a new “handlebars” nicer and better (by no mean) than other ones? :)

  7. InkRose says:

ah right… I missed the past tense there. sorry =)

And yeah, I didn’t remember that about you and Mats. :/

    Anyways, I gotta run now.

Heh, no, helmets are not customary around here. At least not among students. Who would pay more for his helmet than for his bike anyway? Paying for a lock that is more expensive than the bike itself is already quite enough… And how many people find themselves with only one handlebar left anyway? :P
