Well well… It looks like it’s going to happen in a few weeks… Quicky’s gonna have his own desk at university :P. Me and Wouter (my Bachelor Project partner) made the final decision on our Bachelor’s project earlier this week. As expected, we’re going to do our project under the supervision of Ignas Snellen, our teacher of Astronomy Lab last year.

This also means that in theory we have the right for a desk of our own at the observatory. Things aren’t that simple however… There were rumours that the ‘own desk’ thing was really more of a hoax than reality, with the shortage of rooms. However, I went to Erik Deul today who’s responsible for the room arrangements. And guess what? He said…

…he was going to rearrange the rooms next week, getting rid of the people who shouldn’t be there anymore (**evil grin**), and giving us the desks we ‘deserve’. So… after that we should have our own desk :D…

I’m really looking forward to this, because I think it’ll be a big help for me to get in the necessary habit of working from 9 to 5… When I have a room, I can just get up at 7.30, go to uni and stay there till 5 or 5.30 or whatever and actually do something useful… Till now I still haven’t found a suitable place for me to study during the day. Either there’s too many people around, or I feel ‘out of place’, or… Anyway… if I have my own desk, I am in the ‘atmosphere’ of the observatory, without the hoards of first year students passing through to go to the computers, etc.

So… I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this not to be a hoax ;)… I can’t wait to see my name on a label on the door :P.
