My Own Desk at Uni
Yes people, it happened ;). A little over a week ago, I got a desk at university. So from now on instead of having to work in busy public halls or computer rooms or having to study at home, I can work and study at my own desk at university.
It’s actually not really my own desk; I’m sharing it with my partner for my Bachelor’s project. It’s in a 3 by 3 meter room, housing two desks, ours and somebody else’s, with a computer on each one. The other person I haven’t seen yet though, so I don’t know what he’s doing during the day, but he definitely hasn’t been in his room. And since my project partner hasn’t really been working at university yet either, I’ve had the room completely for my own for over a week now.
And I must say…
…I like it ;). I moved a bunch of my books here as well as my mug, my ping-pong pallets and some vitamins (makes for cheap healthy drinks :)). I have been at university quite a lot last week, so I definitely think this will be a big improvement, especially once I’m completely ’settled’ and the everything-is-still-new-and-exciting-phase will be over.
Funny how walking around with a mug at uni makes you feel ‘more part of it’… I would never have guessed that a mug would be some sort of status symbol… ;)
Ah well… Time to go on with my work again… I have an oral exam about Astronomical Observation Techniques on the 21st.

LOL… I never thought I’d see someone so happy being stuck in a cubicle ;) but then again who would type out LOTR dialogues by pausing and unpausing the movie for the task when you can download it straight from the Internet?? Maybe the guy who typed and uploaded the whole script had his cubicle up and running for years! Awwww… :P
