Somebody Stole My Bike :(

Locked bike in motion - http://spacing.ca/photoblog/?p=84Bah :(… Well… it’s my own fault. I should’ve known better. Last night I had left my bike locked outside in front of our house like I always do, and when I wanted to go to university today I didn’t find the goddamn thing anymore :(.

A few months ago they had stolen my second lock, and I had been too lazy to buy a new one, so I had been using a single lock ever since, so now they stole the rest of the bike :-S… Dumb, dumb, dumb… (Yes mom, I know you told me :|).

Anyway… I borrowed the bike of a housemate to drive to uni, I don’t know which housemate though :D. The bike was unlocked and it seemed to not be in use anymore, so I went out to buy a new lock and went to uni with it… Guess I’ll have to buy a new bike somewhere next week or so… Or wait until I can buy one from the police. Dunno… **grumbles**

It’s the first time in 4.5 years of living a university student life that my bike gets stolen… I guess I thought my bike was ‘instealable’? :-/

    that’s a real bummer, man. But yeah, you probably should’ve gotten a better lock when the old one got stolen… =) Anyways, hope you get your bike back, or find a nice one at a police auction. I should probably take a gander at those myself, just in case.

    Oh, and btw, we’re going to Berlin for the weekend in early April, me, Jutta, my mom and my aunt. It’s a short trip, I know, and for a place that big it’s not nearly enough to even see all the things people should really see, but we’re really looking forward to it anyway! =) I suppose my teacher will know a thing or two worth seeing there as well.

    Why would someone steal your lock but not your bike? That seems odd. Why steal a lock that can be stolen? :P

    No, I haven’t bought a new one yet… But I’m thinking I’ll probably try to get one for 25 - 50 euro…
