You know… I’ve always liked internet… the World Wide Web. It can be very time consuming and it can easily waste your time, but it’s one of the very best places to wander around in if you want to learn about our world.

There’s no place like the WWW, where I am confronted with people from all kinds of different cultures and historic backgrounds, where I am forced to alter my views and soften my biases. It’s the one place where you meet people, get to appreciate them and then from time to time be confronted with some of the most striking biases or ignorances you didn’t even know you had…

The WWW is a place where I can openly talk about dildo’s, lubricant and the pleasures of sex with one person and religious beliefs, biblical texts and God with another person. It’s a place where I can talk about interesting daily life with one person and have philosophical conversations about evolution and creationism with another. It’s a place where I can talk about the death penalty being normal and women being suppressed with one person and these kinds of things being unimaginable with another… etc, etc…

The WWW is a place where I am forced to constantly reflect on my views, my perspectives, my biases, my opinions and my thoughts, meanwhile seeking my own true identity. For me the WWW is one of many places where I grow into a better human being, aware and appreciative of the differences in all human beings.

And besides that, the WWW is the one place where I have met my best friends… Thank you.
