Murder Case Turns Out Medieval
After two years of investigation, police officers from Morlaix in France have discovered they were investigating a murder that took place in the Middle Ages.
In December 2003 a fisherman had found the skeleton of a woman on the beach of Finistère. When the police was informed, they immediately started a criminal investigation because there was a 5 inch long cut in the woman’s head, apparently from a big knife.
Tens of police files of recent missing persons were reinvestigated, but nothing solid turned out. When they brought the bones finally to a laboratory to use radioactive carbon to determine when the murder had happened, it turned out the woman died around 1400 - 1450.
She probably died in the hands of pirates… At this moment, it is still unclear whether the questioning of Johnny Depp as a prime suspect will provide any further insight, but the shooting of his next Pirates movie is believed to not be in any danger of this follow-up investigation.

That’s sad yet amusing at the same time. It does however make one realize how brutal life could be back then. I hope this skeleton finally gets buried.
