Annoying advertisements during Formula 1
This afternoon I started a petition after somebody gave me the idea on a Formula 1 forum. Yesterday it was the first grand prix Formula 1 of the season in Australia. This year the broadcast rights had been transferred to a new channel here in the Netherlands. Like many others I was hoping the annoying advertisements would get less or at least stay the same.
I didn’t expect to be so utterly disappointed! Every 9 minutes there was an advertisement block of about 1 to 2 minutes! This means I had to ‘zap’ away every 3 and 8 minutes or something like that! I could just as well stick my remote to my hand with scotch :-S… Anyway… so I made a petition on www.ipetitions.com to collect signatures to send to the television channel. In about 4 hours I collected over 250 signatures. Of course I’m hoping for more, so if you found the advertisements annoying as well, then please sign the petition here: Minder storende reclame tijdens de race bij RTLGP!
[EDIT on Tuesday] I received two phone calls from ‘Spits’ and ‘De Telegraaf’ about the petition! Super cool :D. So you’ll probably see an article about the petition in one or both of these newspapers tomorrow… Well… the Dutch reading people of this blog at least ;).

Hi , yes I know that adverts are one of the biggest contributers of cash in F1 but do they really need to put adverts on so often ?
