Jean Michel Jarre Showcase
Yesterday I went to a private showcase of the new album Téo & Téa by Jean Michel Jarre. By sheer coincidence I had been checking up on one of the many Jarre-sites, jarreuk.com, last week when they were offering free tickets for the showcase. Of course I couldn’t say no to this offer, as I’ve never seen the guy in real life while I’ve been absolutely in love with his music the last few years. So I submitted mine and my mother’s name and guess what? A few days later we were on the official guest list :D.
And boy, am I glad I’ve been offered this opportunity! It was absolutely amazing! A private showcase in one of the Alfacam High-Definition Studios in Antwerp, Belgium, accompanied by about 200 fans and broadcast all over Europe later that evening on HDTV and all over the world on the internet. I had totally not expected to see a show of this beauty for a simple (?) showcase.
Me and my mom were also extremely lucky to get a place right in front of Jarre’s keyboards giving me ample opportunity to take some nice pictures. Actually I took almost 700 pictures in total, lots of them in burst-mode of course. By clicking on the picture above, you go to the gallery I uploaded which contains 100 pictures of this lovely showcase. I don’t think I’ll ever get to see Jarre play this up-close again! I can’t wait to go to one of his real outdoor massive concerts…

Great photos! Thanks for posting them. I have been to 9 outdoor Jarre concerts and you really need to be at one, hehe. There are plans for 2007 in New York and Europe but nothing definite, just projects Jarre is working on.

I’d get my ticket right away if he would give a concert in New York :D.

Those are great shots! It was difficult to shoot without flash, so you must have had a good camera with you. I’d be interested to know what you were using. Were you the person that the interviewer spoke to about photos on the show? You can see my review of the day and photos in my link.

I was using a Canon EOS 350D digital SLR camera with a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 lens. So, pretty decent stuff :). I haven’t spoken with the interviewer, though I was right next to the guy who was :P. I tried to avoid getting interviewed :D.
